2015 Mas Nicot Blanc $25
Certified biodynamic by Ecocert.
A fresh, fruity, festive wine from a beautiful Languedoc terroir.
We’ve recently added to our offerings from our good friends Stéphane Ponson and Frédéric Porro who farm several small plots near Murles and Argilliers just northwest of Montpellier. Stéphane was already making wines from the Mas Nicot estate when she and Frédéric began their collaboration on the Mas des Agrunelles
line of wines in 2005.
Clean and crisp with delicate floral notes and have citrus, apple, and mineral flavours.
This Pinot Grigio retains the proper fruit character to balance out the grapes’ natural high acidity. Perfect on its own or with lighter fare, fish, white meats, or salads.
The grape is Picpoul or ‘lip stinger’ as it’s also known for the high levels of acidity it possesses, the hot climate produces gorgeous ripe fruit reminiscent of white peaches with hawthorn and acacia notes.
Great with seafood and shellfish or even cheese and chocolate, it’s a real quaffer and very affordable at $20 at Wine Gallery.
Lagaria Pinot Grigio delle Venezie $19
Straw yellow in color, pleasant floral and fruity aromas of apple, apricot and pear. Medium-bodied, with refreshing fruit, distinct character and balance.
Care white is a blend of Macabeo and Chardonnay. Soft, round, and fruity with a little mineral zip to the finish. Great on its own or with chicken or fish dishes.
Care is the Roman name for Cariñena, which represents the grape growing region of this wine. Cariñena is located in the middle of Aragon, Spain, home to just 29 total wineries. Stateside, care represents respect and love, which the winery hopes you’ll find in each bottle.
The term care also translates to “flat face,” which is the inspiration behind the label artwork. The label is designed by Spanish artist Enrique Torrijos. Torrijos. His artwork is featured on all the Bodegas Care wine labels in different colors and styles
2014 Michel Guignier Macon Villages $29
Great little Chardonnay from southern Burgundy. Bright, fresh, and clean, no oak.
Citrus, apple, and pear flavours with noticeable richness and intensity for the appellation.
Michel Guignier. Leading biodynamic and organic producer with family estates in Morgon and Beaujolais.
2014 Lantides 5 Senses White $19
From the Peloponnese in Greece this blend of Moschofilero [Mos-ko-FEE-ro] and Moscato is an aromatic wine reticent of roses, violets, and spice.
It finishes crisp and clean with flavours of citrus and orange rind.
If you’re looking for something a little less acidic, then the Arthemis Fiano from Puglia might be your pick. Common to more southern regions like Campania, Fiano has distinct notes of honey, spice, and nuts.
It is generally more full-bodied. This example from
Masseria Surani can be found in our Weekday Wine section of the store and in our cooler, chilled and ready to go.
